Speaker:In an earlier episode of One Minute Podcast Tips,
Speaker:I spoke about the importance
Speaker:of having a really good elevator pitch for your podcast.
Speaker:And I'll leave a link to that in the show notes
Speaker:so you can check that out
Speaker:after you've listened to this episode.
Speaker:But more so than having a good elevator pitch,
Speaker:being able to describe your podcast
Speaker:in as few words as possible
Speaker:is a really effective skill to work on and improve.
Speaker:And this is what I call the 10 Word Rule.
Speaker:If you can describe your podcast in 10 words or less,
Speaker:it can really help you attract new listeners.
Speaker:So for example, a podcast I listen to
Speaker:is Piecing It Together by David Rosen.
Speaker:This is a movie podcast,
Speaker:but it's a movie podcast with a difference.
Speaker:And that comes across in David's own example of the 10 Word Rule.
Speaker:When asked to describe his podcast,
Speaker:David always says it's a podcast about movies and the movies that inspire them.
Speaker:And that's the perfect description for his podcast,
Speaker:which looks at the influences behind some of the most popular movies today.
Speaker:So take a look at your own podcast
Speaker:and try to narrow it down to 10 words or less how you would describe the podcast
Speaker:to someone who's asking for the very first time.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
Speaker:Thanks for listening.
Speaker:If you enjoy One Minute Podcast tips,
Speaker:be sure to share with your friends and other podcasters
Speaker:so they can enjoy it too.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
