Two Simple Ways to Get Feedback from Your Podcast Listeners

Due to the way podcasts are consumed, it can be hard to get feedback from your listeners. Comments, thoughts on an episode, and more are all valuable to receive.

Thankfully, there are two simple ways to get feedback from your podcast listeners, as I share in this episode.

And now, this week's episode.

Speaker:

(upbeat music)

Speaker:

Due to the way podcasts are consumed,

Speaker:

which is usually on an app that doesn't allow for comments,

Speaker:

it can be hard to get feedback from your listeners.

Speaker:

However, there are two really simple ways to encourage this.

Speaker:

The first one is SpeakPipe.

Speaker:

SpeakPipe is a voice recording app

Speaker:

that you can add to any website

Speaker:

or you get a landing page that SpeakPipe provides,

Speaker:

and that allows listeners to record a voice message

Speaker:

and send that to you.

Speaker:

Once you receive the message,

Speaker:

you can record your own and send it back

Speaker:

via the email that the listener used.

Speaker:

It's a really cool way to get two-way voice messages

Speaker:

between you and your listeners.

Speaker:

There's a free plan that allows for unlimited messages

Speaker:

and up to 90 seconds of recording time,

Speaker:

and there's also a couple of pro plans as well.

Speaker:

The other one is Podgagement.

Speaker:

Now Podgagement primarily makes it super easy

Speaker:

to encourage reviews for your podcast

Speaker:

and track these reviews and ratings globally

Speaker:

across all apps.

Speaker:

However, there's also a voice and written feedback section.

Speaker:

Much like Speakpipe, this allows listeners

Speaker:

to record a voice message and send it to you,

Speaker:

but it also gives you written feedback.

Speaker:

So if a listener doesn't want to send you a voice message,

Speaker:

they can send you a comment instead

Speaker:

via the feedback page on Podgagement.

Speaker:

There are two plans to Podgagement, Astro and Constellation,

Speaker:

and if you want the voice and written feedback options,

Speaker:

you would have to be on the Constellation plan.

Speaker:

But it's pretty inexpensive,

Speaker:

and again, like I say,

Speaker:

it has got extra features to track ratings and reviews,

Speaker:

as well as leave direct reviews on a landing page.

Speaker:

And I'll leave links to both Speakpipe

Speaker:

and Podgagement in the show notes,

Speaker:

so be sure to check them out on your podcast app.

Speaker:

Until the next time, happy podcasting.

Speaker:

Speaker:

Thanks for listening.

Danny Brown

Danny Brown is the host of One Minute Podcast Tips, the show that helps you be a better podcaster in just a minute a week. He's also hosted, and co-hosted, several other podcasts - if you called him a serial podcaster, you wouldn't be wrong! He's been in the podcasting space for over 10 years, and has the scars to prove it.

He's the Head of Podcaster Support and Experience at Captivate.fm, the world's only growth-oriented podcast hosting, distribution, analytics, and monetization platform for the serious indie podcaster.

He lives in beautiful Muskoka, Ontario, Canada with his wife and two kids, where he spends winters in front of a cozy fire and summers by the lake. Well, when he finds time away from podcasting, of course...
