About One Minute Podcast Tips

A podcast education show by Danny Brown, built around one idea: useful podcasting advice should fit into your day.

What One Minute Podcast Tips is

One Minute Podcast Tips is a podcast education show for people who make podcasts, or want to. Each episode gives you one clear, practical tip you can understand in under a minute and put to work the same day.

The show was built for busy creators. Starting a podcast, improving one, and growing an audience all come with a long list of decisions. Instead of asking you to sit through an hour of theory, the show breaks that list into small, usable pieces.

Whether you have not yet recorded your first episode or have been publishing for years, the aim is the same: help you make a better show and help more people find it.

Who is behind it

The show is brought to you by Danny Brown. Danny hosts, writes and produces every episode, and he uses the same tools and methods he talks about. The equipment list on each episode page shows exactly what he records with, so you can see the setup behind the advice.

That hands-on approach shapes the show. Tips come from real recording, editing and publishing work, not from a script of generic rules.

What the episodes cover

The topics follow the real questions podcasters ask. Recent episodes have covered using Reddit to find topic ideas and build community, editing your audio for the places people actually listen, sharing the full picture of your audience with sponsors, and describing your podcast in ten words or fewer.

Across the feed you will find advice on monetizing, growing your audience, choosing hardware, editing techniques, and pitching your show clearly. Every episode stays short and focused on a single idea.

Who the show is for

The show is for new podcasters who need a clear starting point, and for experienced hosts who want a fresh idea or a second opinion. It suits solo creators, interview shows and anyone thinking about monetizing.

If you are curious about hardware, unsure how to edit, stuck on how to describe your show, or wondering how to talk to sponsors, there is likely a tip for you. Each episode stands alone, so you can start anywhere and listen in any order.

How to get the most from it

Pick one tip, try it on your next episode, and see what changes. Small improvements add up quickly when you apply them one at a time.

When you want more depth, join the livestream and bring your own question. Hearing how other podcasters tackle the same problems is one of the best ways to learn.

From one minute to live

After nearly three years of quick-hit tips in 60 seconds or under, the show is evolving. In the next few weeks, Danny is moving from this micro format to a bi-weekly livestream on YouTube.

The livestream is closer to an Ask Me Anything for podcasters. You can join live for deeper conversations, community questions and answers, and real-time podcasting advice.

The audio from each livestream still arrives in the same podcast feed, so you can listen on the go. These episodes run longer, between 40 and 60 minutes depending on the stream, and have a more interactive tone.

The One Minute Podders membership

For serious indie podcasters who want to go beyond the one minute tips, there is the One Minute Podders membership. It connects you with like-minded podcasters and gives you a place to ask your own specific questions.

  • Invite-only monthly live streams
  • Early access to episodes 48 hours before anyone else
  • A link to your podcast in the show notes

Tools and resources

Every episode page lists the products Danny uses for the show. His equipment includes the RODE NT1-A large diaphragm condenser microphone, the Rodecaster Pro II audio production studio, Sony MDR-7506 studio monitor headphones, and the Elgato Wave Mic Arm Low Profile.

Some of these may be affiliate links. Danny receives a small percentage of any purchase made through them, at no extra cost to you.

Where to listen

The show is free to listen to on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, in your preferred podcast app, and online at the show's website. If you enjoy it, a rating or review on your favourite podcast app helps other podcasters find it.
