Why You Should Use Headphones for Your Podcast Recording and Editing
When it comes to podcast equipment, a lot of the discussions are usually around mics, or interfaces, or software, etc. For some reason, you rarely see headphones mentioned, and yet they're probably the most underrated piece of equipment around.
Here's why you should use headphones for your podcast recording and editing.
Mentioned in this episode:
- Sennheiser HD 200 PRO Studio Headphones - Noise Reducing ; Closed ; Around-Ear

Speaker:And now, this week's episode.
Speaker:When it comes to podcast equipment,
Speaker:a lot of the discussions are usually around mics
Speaker:or interfaces, or software, or other tools.
Speaker:But for some reason, you rarely see headphones mentioned,
Speaker:and yet they're probably the most underrated piece
Speaker:of equipment around.
Speaker:When recording, you can hear any unwanted sounds,
Speaker:noise artifacts, uneven levels, and more.
Speaker:During editing, you can pick out the tiny details
Speaker:you'd otherwise miss, including where the mix
Speaker:might need improvement.
Speaker:So I always recommend a good pair of headphones
Speaker:when it comes to podcasting, and to make sure
Speaker:they're monitor headphones with a neutral sound.
Speaker:You don't want heavy bass from music headphones, for example.
Speaker:I use the Sony MDR7506, while the Sennheiser HD200 Pros are also really good.
Speaker:And I'll leave links to those in the show notes so you can check them out.
Speaker:So the next time you're looking at podcasting equipment, make sure headphones are at the
Speaker:top of the list.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
Speaker:Thanks for listening.
Speaker:If you enjoy one minute podcast tips, be sure to share with your friends and other podcasters
