The Two P's to Podcast Success
There's an interesting stat in the podcast space that 90% of podcasts don't get past episode three. Of those that continue, 90% of these stop after 20 episodes. So how can you ensure you're one of the ones that make it past this? By following what I call the Two P's to Podcast Success.

Speaker:And now, this week's episode.
Speaker:There's an interesting stat in the podcast space
Speaker:that 90% of podcasts don't get past episode 3.
Speaker:Of those that continue, 90% of these stop after 20 episodes.
Speaker:So how can you ensure you're one of the ones that make it past this?
Speaker:By following what I call the Two Ps to Podcast Success.
Speaker:The first one is patience.
Speaker:It won't all be sweetness and roses to start with, despite what the so-called gurus tell
Speaker:you.
Speaker:You won't get 10,000 downloads in the first month.
Speaker:But you can get 100 engaged listeners, and they're the ones that will share your podcast
Speaker:and help it grow.
Speaker:Success is a long tail game and to play it effectively you need to have reasonable
Speaker:expectations. The second one is perseverance. When patience runs out, and
Speaker:it will, this is key. Sure you might see other podcasters talk about their
Speaker:success and wonder why you're not seeing the same, but they may not be telling the
Speaker:whole story. It's easy to embellish success when the actuality is very
Speaker:different. Don't worry about others, look at what you're doing instead. Do you have
Speaker:better mic technique now? Has your audio quality improved? Is your podcast flow
Speaker:better than when you first started. These are success metrics that make the
Speaker:difference when it comes to listener growth. Keep doing what you're doing, let
Speaker:people know about it constantly and you'll find your audience. Until the next
Speaker:time, happy podcasting!
Speaker:Thanks for listening. If you enjoy One Minute Podcast Tips be sure to share
Speaker:with your friends and other podcasters so they can enjoy it too. Until the next
Speaker:time, happy podcasting!
