Speaker:And now, this week's episode.
Speaker:When it comes to publishing your episode,
Speaker:you have three choices.
Speaker:There's bonus, there's trailer, and there's normal.
Speaker:and there's a time for using each of them.
Speaker:The good thing is, as their names suggest,
Speaker:they're all pretty self-explanatory.
Speaker:Trailer is when you want to create a trailer
Speaker:to promote your podcast.
Speaker:And the cool thing is, as your show progresses,
Speaker:you can update your trailer at any time
Speaker:and just replace the old one
Speaker:so the trailer's always up to date.
Speaker:For bonus content, that really comes into play
Speaker:when there's content you want to publish
Speaker:that's not a normal episode.
Speaker:So let's say you publish an episode
Speaker:that's 30 minutes long or an hour long,
Speaker:but now and again, you just want to include
Speaker:a quick five or 10 minute snippet.
Speaker:Now it could be about the same topic,
Speaker:but it could be a news story about that topic or your own take on something that's happened in the news.
Speaker:So what you could do is record that 5 minute section, upload it and publish it as a bonus episode.
Speaker:Depending on the podcast host you use, they'll filter it as bonus content,
Speaker:so then the podcast apps that support bonus filters will also highlight that as bonus content,
Speaker:so regular listeners will know this is something extra.
Speaker:And finally there's Normal, which, as the name suggests, is the normal episode.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting!
Speaker:(upbeat music)
